This Position is for a ECH System Technologist - US REMOTE with a company loated in Mississippi.

 

Job Summuary: The Software Enterprise Deployment and Integration team is the team that delivers solutions to the public safety sector. We are committed to providing technology and tools which will allow customers to focus on their mission, and enable them to respond faster with smarter and safer decisions. We deploy and support products such as Emergency Call Handling, 911 Equipment, Computer Aided Dispatch, Records Management Systems, Jail Management Systems and Mobile Data Computing, among other offerings. NOTE: This position is a remote position and candidates can be located anywhere in the US with an access to a major airport. This position requires 75% + of travel. The Emergency Call Handling (ECH) System Technologist will report to the ECH System Technologist Manager. The System Technologist is ultimately accountable for the system being implemented based on the site design specifics including the on-site configuration, testing, cut, and post-cut support for Motorola's ECH solutions. The System Technologist may also provide consultation to both internal and external customers on complex solutions being deployed in the field.

 

Duties and Responsibilities: Performs system configuration for all supported and assigned ECH solution. Performs site verification testing prior to cutting a site into a production environment. Provides support to Customer and Channel Partners while deploying the ECH solution into a production environment. Documents all changes to the solution that may occur during the implementation phase of the project. Ensures that installation/quality issues are resolved in a timely and efficient manner. Ensures that project-specific documentation is stored as appropriate. Participates in the development and approval of Methods of Procedure. Participates in pre-contract oral presentations and customer negotiates as required. Maintains subject matter expert skills. 

 

Education and Qualifications: âExperience with installation, administration, and troubleshooting of: Server Virtualization, specifically with VMWare ESXi v.6+ andor Microsoft Hyper-V 2012+. Database Servers, specifically with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R220122016. Server Operating Systems, specifically Windows Server 2008 R2, 2012 R2 and 2019. Workstation Operating Systems, specifically Windows 7 & 10. Linux / Network Switches, preferably with Cisco IOS. Basic knowledge of Firewalls and Routers, preferably with Fortinet Fortigate. Server hardware / Workstation hardware. Previous experience in Public Safety Applications deployment and integration and/or operations and administration preferred. Exercises judgment in the selection of methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Ability to work collaboratively with regional and territorial management. Ability to effectively communicate with relevant peers and senior stakeholders. Ability to apply critical thinking skills to solve problems and make decisions. This position requires 3 years of technical or engineering experience, 5 years of technical or engineering experience is preferred. Preferred Skills: College Degree in Engineering, IT, Software Engineering, or Technology. 3+ plus years of deployment and integration of complex IP products and systems.
