Job Description:
- Provides highly skilled forensic interviews of child victims of suspected abuse, siblings of
victims, or witness of abuse, family violence, or other crimes in a lead capacity. Obtains
medical and psychosocial information regarding active investigations of suspected child
maltreatment and develops recommendations for the immediate needs of the child and
family, as well as the long-term needs and safety of the child. Follows child through the
process of intake, interview, and medical exams and coordinates case activities, working
closely with the Florida Department of Children & Families, local law enforcement, and the
State Attorney’s Office, to facilitate communication between organizations responsible for the
investigation of child abuse allegations.
- Oversees case coordinators documentation and ensures client records/files are consistent
with program requirements as needed. Training and onboarding new case coordinators.
- Participates in 24-hour rotation on-call coverage including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
Assists, as needed in the development of the on-call schedule, providing clinical direction, overseeing
case reviews, etc. Completes comprehensive, written assessments and submits reports to the
protective investigators within the time frames consistent with program requirements and best practice.
- Will host, organize, lead, and summarize Multidisciplinary Team staffing's, coordinating client
services and referrals to community agencies.
Assists with Community training and outreach initiatives.
Provides depositions and expert witness in criminal and dependency court proceedings as
required.
Expected Salary:
$60,000 to $70,000 annually depending on education and experience.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
This position is open to current UF employees only.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree of Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, or another behavioral science.
Three to five years' experience involving working with abused and neglected children.
