Aerotek Fabric Cutter in Jacksonville, Florida

Job Title: Fabric Cutter

Pay: $18.00-$22.00

Shift: 7am - 3:30pm (M-F)

(Overtime based on production orders needed, could work up to 50+ hours/week)

Job Description

We are seeking shop helpers to cut and measure fabrics for awnings. You will learn how to read blueprints and use hand tools to cut materials to the desired length. Knowledge of blueprints and the ability to read a tape measure would be helpful. This role is production-based, and you will need to cut fabric according to job specifications. Training will be provided by the shop supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Cut and measure fabrics for awnings according to job specifications.

  • Read and interpret blueprints.

  • Use hand tools and power tools such as drills and framing tools.

  • Install and retract awnings using ladders and power tools.

  • Learn to operate the Airwedge fabric welding machine.

  • Install grommets using specialized machines.

  • Perform quality inspections of completed work.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with production and assembly tasks.

  • Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and tape measures.

  • Knowledge of fabric handling and upholstery.

  • Attention to detail and precision in measuring and cutting materials.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with sewing and using sewing machines.

  • Understanding of pneumatics and schematics.

  • Ability to visualize how fabric will wrap around an awning.

  • Experience with loading and measuring materials.

Work Environment

Work in a non-climate-controlled shop environment. Standard hours are from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, with some overtime or weekend work depending on job requirements.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, Florida.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00
