Job Description:

Parsons is now accepting applications for our Summer 2025 Civil Engineering Internship program supporting our Florida practice! In this program, you will expand your engineering technical skills and knowledge with direct mentorship and collaboration within a world-class team of Infrastructure design experts!

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Completing a variety of basic engineering support assignments

  • Providing project support on various Highway and Drainage related projects

  • Preparing engineering drawings from rough sketches and/or from general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures

  • Be engaged in engineering drainage and irrigation designs, hydraulic systems modeling, and drainage calculations, and have the opportunity to be mentored and trained by more experienced engineers

  • Compiling data and performing dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings

  • Carrying out assignments designed to help you develop a practical knowledge of civil engineering

  • Determining creative and innovative methods and solutions for complex road or highway engineering problems and select the most efficient and economical manner to achieve objectives

  • Assuring that the designs are in accordance with approved Federal, State and local agency requirements as well as following accepted industry practices and procedures

What Required Skills & Qualifications You'll Bring:

  • Fundamental knowledge of design/drafting standards, practices, and techniques

  • Must be enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master’s Degree Civil or Structural engineering curriculum at an accredited college or university and have completed at least two year of studies

  • Should be at a Junior or Senior level in an Undergraduate Degree Program or enrolled in a Master’s Degree program

  • Literate in PC software, a working knowledge of CAD, and other computer software used to complete design assignments

  • Previous coursework that is relevant to the role

What Preferred Skills & Qualifications You'll Bring:

  • Prior related internship experience

  • Sufficient aptitude for learning basic transportation engineering systems design

  • Some experience with Autocad or Microstation training

  • Communication skills

Salary Range:

$21.44 - $37.55
