The selected intern will need to report onsite at the Jacksonville, Florida office for the entire duration of the program which runs from May through August 2025 . United Therapeutics does not provide housing or transportation. A stipend for relocation assistance may be provided on a case-by-case basis.

Program Details:

• All internships are paid, up to 40 hours/week.

• Interns are responsible for arranging their housing and transportation. A relocation stipend may be provided for non-local candidates. Determinations will be made on a case-by-case basis.

How you’ll contribute

Here at Lung Bioengineering (a wholly owned subsidiary of United Therapeutics), our mission is to increase the availability and suitability of organs for transplant. Ex-Vivo Lung Perfusion (EVLP) is a procedure used by transplant teams to evaluate lungs outside the body, providing essential information on lungs that may not initially appear suitable for transplant. Our EVLP Clinical Specialists play a vital role in this process, working closely with transplant surgeons to provide hands-on assessments and detailed data on the condition of the lungs. This crucial information helps surgeons determine the suitability of lungs for transplantation.

The LBE Intern’s role and responsibilities may include, but not be limited to, involvement in EVLP case and facility readiness, data collection and analysis for donor demographics, and EVLP and recipient outcomes. Participation in clinical case debriefs. Participation in the preparation and execution of in-house training. There may also be opportunities to participate in regulatory, quality, training, and commercialization learning environments.

Minimum Requirements

• Must actively be enrolled in a college program (including rising sophomores or those pursuing a 2-year degree).

• Must be available to work 40 hours per week onsite in the Silver Spring, Maryland office

• Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite

• Familiarity with operational systems such as Adobe

The salary for this position ranges from $24.00 to $24.00 per hour. The salary range is the range United Therapeutics Corporation in good faith believes is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting depending on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law.
