SUMMARY:Responsible for identifying the risks, initiating insurance and risk management programs to reduce the financial risk of loss through exposure. * * GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Manages, plans, and coordinates risk and insurance programs of establishment to control risks and losses. Identifies, evaluates, and implements corrective action against risks that may result in injury, property loss, damage, or legal liability. Analyzes and classifies risk as to frequency and potential severity and measures financial impact of risk on company. Participate in and contribute to insurance broker renewal strategy meetings and insurance carrier renewal meetings. Collect, analyze, sort and refine all exposure and necessary renewal application materials for insurance programs and bond renewals in accordance with departmental timeline. prepare related renewal presentation materials as needed and assigned for insurance programs. Collect, review and submit exposure information required by insurers on an ongoing basis. Review insurance invoices, binders, policies, endorsements and any related documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency. Retain and manage such policy records in Risk Management’s RMIS (Riskonnect) system. Ensure proper invoice coding, processing, and payment of all insurance programs and oversee the review and reconciliation of the statement of accounts in a timely fashion. Manage database and assist with vendor contract review of insurance and indemnity provisions as assigned in accordance with Company standards. Ensure Riskonnect RMIS system is accurate and up to date with broker and carrier information for billing, asset record administration, document management and with all binders and insurance policies. Oversee and manage bond database and renew bonds as required for compliance and Company requirements. EDUCATION:Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, risk management or related field preferred; Associates Degree required; one or more of the following designations preferred: Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU); Associate in Risk Management (ARM); Associate of Marine Insurance Management (AMIM); Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC); Risk & Insurance Management Society Fellow (RIMS Fellow). EXPERIENCE:5 years of experience in risk management administration, preferably in purchase and related administration of Property & Casualty insurance programs and review/evaluation of insurance. TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY:Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Risk Management Information Systems (RMIS) and Word in addition to working knowledge of contract management, insurance/safety practices, familiar with transportation terminology and documentation. COMPETENCIES:Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal/external business partners. Ability to evaluate process effectiveness and develop changes or alternatives. Ability to function effectively with, or as part of, a team. Ability to indirectly mentor, coach, train and/or supervise employees. Ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope. Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously while meeting assigned deadlines. Ability to develop, improve and streamline processes to meet established goals and objectives. Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures related to risk management and insurance administration (excluding insured employee benefit plans). Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply federal, state and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations related to insurance administration and risk management. Knowledge of Federal and state statues and liability rules governing claims. OTHER: Resident Florida agent’s license a plus. JOB SCOPE:Position impacts multiple business units/segments. WORKING CONDITIONS:Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Extended use of a computer keyboard, viewing of a computer monitor and the ability to sit for long periods of time.
