The Technology Solutions Department is actively seeking a Senior Infrastructure Compliance Engineer.

The Senior Infrastructure Compliance Engineer (Server Security and Patching) will report to the Server Infrastructure Manager and is an advanced technical position. The position serves as a lead in managing the security compliance and patching of the City of Jacksonville mission critical server technology software and hardware infrastructure. Is responsible for working with server team members and with other teams in the monitoring, testing, and installing of all critical vendor updates across both software and hardware for servers.
Examples of Work
Primary responsibilities include the following:
Engineers, implements, and monitors security measures for the protection of servers and applications.
Reviews and analyzes the impact to ITD environment based on vendor security notices.
Identifies and defines system security requirements in partnership with the security team.
Prepares and documents standard operating procedures and protocols.
Configures and troubleshoots security and vendor updates.
Writes and edits PowerShell scripts to perform a variety of tasks.
Manages the services, products, and infrastructure to include current and prior versions of both hardware and software.
Installs setup and configures Microsoft Windows Servers Operating systems current and prior versions.
Installs and configures Microsoft Security tools and update processes.
Creates and implements simple to complex PowerShell scripted solutions for various operational supports.
Updates documentation existing, new, and proposed server security architecture and configurations.
Works closely with Enterprise Architects and System Architects, and business units to assist with the design of infrastructure solutions to meet business and security requirements.
Integrates monitoring and configuration services as appropriate, (SCCM, SCOM, SolarWinds, etc.)
Possesses technical project management skills to establish tightly managed projects for migration of legacy platforms to modern platforms. These efforts may span virtual servers (VMware), operating systems, database servers, web servers, and applications.
Documents product implementation and upgrade steps in easy-to-follow instructions and creates necessary technical design documents.
Conducts proactive maintenance of IT infrastructure with no supervision including maintaining high level of systems availability, monitoring systems performance and reliability to mitigate outages and system interruptions, managing tools for providing early warning and alerts, and monitoring system capacity utilization and taking proactive steps to avoid over utilization.
Works with vendors to resolve system outages, advanced technical hardware, and software issues.
Serves as escalation point for critical and complex issues from junior team members.
Diagnoses and resolves advanced technical issues, conducts root cause analysis, demonstrates consistent level of accuracy with problem resolution.
Performs firmware and operating systems upgrades and patches.
Configures, tests and pilots’ deployment of new security technologies and solutions.
Participates in disaster recovery tests and planning.
Responds to and resolves assigned tickets and requests.
After-hours work as required.
Demonstrates proficiency in the City of Jacksonville's competencies.
Performs related duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Expert knowledge in server security.
Expert knowledge of all things Microsoft. Operating systems, cloud solutions, security solutions, MS-365, Microsoft desktop applications and tools
Knowledge of VMware or similar virtual platforms.
Knowledge of AIX/Linux operating systems is a plus.
Knowledge of Project Management principles and ability to manage multiple projects.
Knowledge of security principles.
Knowledge in structured change and incident management principles.

Position Requirements:
Eight (8) years of education and/or experience in server and infrastructure technologies and security around server hardware and software.
Strong diagnostic and technical aptitude.
Leadership and technical skills to communicate technical terms and direction effectively and efficiently in a way that is easily understood by IT staff and business customers.

- Supervision or project management experience is preferred.
Licensing/Certification/Registration:
A valid driver's license is required prior to appointment and must be maintained during employment in this class.
Must qualify for prior to appointment, obtain, and maintain during employment in this class the City of Jacksonville certification as a public driver.
Other Requirements:
Must pass the Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) background screening performed by the Jacksonville Sherriff’s Office prior to appointment.
Within 30 days of appointment date to classification, acquire and maintain the appropriate level of Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) certification which corresponds to the job responsibilities. The level will be determined by current CJIS guidelines and may change periodically. Certification is obtained by successfully completing a web-based training course and test which covers physical security, incident response, the protection of information and other IT specific security threats, vulnerabilities, and risks.
