PeopleReady Structural Welder in Jacksonville, Florida

We are currently sourcing for a Structural Welder with heavy civil & marine construction experience. Typical scope of work includes installation of piles, lagging, walers, braces and more for support of excavation projects. Geostructural, heavy civil, bridges or marine project experience to be considered.

Note: The pay rate for this job is $23 - $28 / hour This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law. Job Responsibilities:

  • As a structural welder you will be an integral part of the team on site and responsible for welding steel beams, steel plates and other miscellaneous metals while performing basic pile driving duties.

  • Must be proficient in the use of hand and power tools

  • Unloads and assembles pile driving hammer and leads

  • Unloads various types of piling - concrete, pip, h-piling, timber, and steel sheet piling Fuels, lubricates and maintains the pile driving hammer Uses oxygen/acetylene welding torch to cut steel plates, pipes, beams, etc.

  • Prepare the piling to be driven and assists in positioning and driving piling

  • Responsible for on-site structural welding that will be visually & x-ray inspected

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Must have valid structural welding certificate of at least D1.1

  • Must be able to read and interpret plans and schematics

  • Must have full welding gear & torch

  • Minimum of 3 years of document experience in a structural welding role

  • Ability to lift and carry 80lbs of materials when needed
