Job Description

Are you enthusiastic and self-motivated? Would you enjoy having no daily commute? How about paying $0 in rent? If so, U-Haul is looking for a couple to work as On-Site Storage Managers! In this position you will both live on-site in a company apartment while managing our storage facility, maximizing sales objectives and building rapport with customers via the phone, web, or in person. You will both have the opportunity to recommend marketing strategies and guide the growth of your storage facilities. Rent and utilities are included. Both of you will be on the payroll and qualify for benefits. Pets, smoking, and children are not allowed in the buildings or apartment .

In this position you will live on-site in rent-free 2 bedroom 1 bed 2 car garage , company-provided accommodations. Pets and smoking are not allowed.

    On-Site Storage Manager Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform profit and loss (P&L) analysis, manage cash, balance receipts, pursue collections, post payments, process accurate and timely bank deposits, and assist with the auction process as needed

  • Build, manage, and coach a successful staff able to deliver against U-Haul’s high operating standards

  • Drive sales and production by identifying customer needs and selling high quality products in order to meet them

  • Periodically walk the grounds to track inventory and ensure the facilities are kept to the highest standards of cleanliness

    On-Site Storage Manager Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1-3 years of management experience in retail or other service industry with responsibility for financial results and customer satisfaction

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Previous management proficiency in high volume retail with profit and loss (P&L) accountability

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record, adhering to all local vehicular regulations

    Work Environment: The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g. working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing, or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields.

    Physical Demands: The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods both indoors and outdoors of remaining stationary , traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.
