Job Title: Picker and Packer

Job Description

Packers will tag items with stickers, check boxes and products, and then box them for shipping. They will tape boxes or use a box cutter to open them. Utilizing pick tickets and order sheets to ensure accuracy, they will perform basic shipping, receiving, unloading, scanning, moving, staging, loading, locating, relocating, and stacking products. Responsibilities include pulling and preparing products for shipment, ensuring the exact number and type of products are available, and placing materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, style, color, or product code. Assembling customer orders from stock, staging orders, and conveying them to packing stations or shipping departments according to customer pick sheets. Pickers will use phone-type scanners to pull items from batched lists, place these items in a tote on a conveyor belt to be delivered to packing stations, and are expected to pick at a rate of at least 90 lines per hour. Pickers will be on their feet for the entire 10-hour shift and will walk several miles while picking.

Work Environment

This is a newer warehouse and distribution center. It is an open bay, non-climate controlled facility, but has large industrial fans to help reduce the heat and water stations throughout the facility.
