SMP Health - Ave Maria CNA - Flex $26/hour in Jamestown, North Dakota
Temporary part-time positions on all shifts to work every other weekend and every other holiday. May pick up open shifts in addition to this.
[ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: [1. The CNA is responsible for assessing assigned residents' daily care needs, including assistance with or independence in dressing and undressing, grooming, bathing, eating, and mobility. The incumbent is responsible for understanding and following the RESPECT philosophy. The CNA is responsible for conducting assessments in consideration for the residents' privacy, dignity, and independence. This position is also responsible for contributing assessment input to the care planning process. [2. The CNA is responsible for providing or assisting assigned residents with their daily care needs and providing daily care activities according to established procedures and information on resident care cards and clinical records. The incumbent is responsible for notifying the nurse of any noticeable changes in the residents' normal pattern of physical or emotional behavior, answering non-medical questions for residents and their families and directing them to appropriate personnel for further clarification. [3. The CNA is responsible for assisting the residents in performing specific medical care tasks according to the care plans, including ambulation, use of proper body mechanics, and proper transfer techniques. The CNA is also responsible for using gait belts and lifts appropriately, proper positioning of residents in bed, chair or wheelchair, and providing assistance with toileting and following toileting schedules, providing other treatments under the nurse's direction, collecting specimens, following bowel and bladder programs, taking vital signs, recording intake and outputs, and accurately recording findings on flow sheets, providing feedback to nurses regarding residents' conditions, and documenting resident data on indicated forms. [4. The incumbent is responsible for performing safety and infection control policies and procedures to ensure a safe, organized and clean environment for the residents and staff. This includes understanding and following procedures relating to emergencies, wandering residents, fire, severe weather, evacuation, universal precautions, infection control procedures, and safe operation of any equipment used. The CNA always uses proper body mechanics, and promptly responds to call lights, bed and chair checks and all other alarm systems. The CNA also keeps the resident rooms neat and orderly. [5. The CNA is responsible for attending and actively participating in work, meetings and in-services in order to be current, knowledgeable, able to maintain certification, and to contribute to the residents' highest level of functioning, and serves on various committees within the facility.
