Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the field crew with all aspects of the daily crew workload
  • Assisting the office survey team with various land surveying tasks including AutoCAD Civil 3D survey drafting, project research, reducing field data, performing calculations, etc.
  • Follow instructions and work orders from project managers
  • Ensure that vehicles are supplied and kept in an orderly fashion, ready for duty, and care for equipment
  • Operate basic surveying hand tools and equipment
  • Ability to quickly learn the basic operation procedures of land survey and remote sensing equipment
  • Ability to safely traverse and navigate rugged terrain
  • Ability to regularly work outside in all weather conditions
Qualifications:
  • Must be a student pursuing a degree in engineering or a Certificate in Survey Engineering Technology
  • Surveying experience is a plus
  • Good communicator, energetic, and able to work in the office to obtain the full experience of working alongside our engineering staff.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
  • Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
  • Able to stand for approximately 3 hours minimum a day up to 8 hours
  • Able to traverse a construction job site consisting of uneven ground varying in height and consistency of material, with a variation of elevation 19" or less (mud, gravel, rutted ground, etc.)
  • Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working
  • Able to move equipment or inspection specimens weighing up to 50 pounds
