UPMC Telephone Operator in Jamestown, New York

Responsibilities:

  • Perform system data entry as needed, maintaining accuracy and efficiency.

  • Deliver customized service to various answering service clients, adhering to specific protocols.

  • Respond to emergency codes promptly and accurately, initiating necessary actions.

  • Facilitate voice paging when required, ensuring clear and effective communication.

  • Provide accurate Physician on call information to authorized individuals.

  • Utilize specified phrasing consistently when answering calls, ensuring professionalism.

  • loManage multiple phone lines effectively while delivering exceptional customer service, assessing caller needs and transferring calls as required.

  • Support training new operators, ensuring they understand protocols and procedures.

Required:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.

  • 1 year of experience answering and processing calls through automated phone system OR 1 year of customer service experience.

  • Must be able to work all shifts, 7 days a week.

Preferred:

  • Medical terminology knowledge.
