"Job#: 2032621 Job Description: Comms Network Engineer SeniorWhat Youll Get to Do:Provide Networking Subject Matter Expertise (SME) and thought leadership for the largest Intranet in the world. A qualified candidate for this position would be responsible for network design, integration, test, security, and implementation of Network Services for the as-fielded NMCI network.Provides extensive SME knowledge of network engineering and operations knowledge, integration, test and evaluation activities, as well as implementation and transition to Network OperationsCollaborates with Network Domain Architects to define and/or continuously improve: -Audits and Reviews STIG compliant configuration baselines, versioning, and compliance tracking. -Test and Validate Automation and best practice insertion opportunities. -Leads development of SOPs/TTPs. -Continuous Service Improvements (CSI). -System performance tuning and enhancements. -Create and maintain Engineering Implementation Plans (EIP).Develops network bandwidth needs and recommend measures to meet those requirements.Extensive knowledge of defense-in-depth principles, Network and Security architecture, network topology, IT device integrity, and common security elements.Plans and executes network upgrades and maintenance activities with the NMCI Operations Manager, NOC Lead, Release Management team and other key stakeholders.Tier III escalation support and vendor engagement supporting Incident Management activities.Active participation in Root Cause Analysis for Problem Management activities.Qualifications:Requires B.S. Degree and 8-12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6-10 years of prior relevant experience (preferred in STEM or relevant field, or comparable experience).
