"Job#: 2034989 Job Description: Communications Network Engineer SeniorReport to the NSWCCORDIV NMCI Activity Contract Technical Representative (ACTR), or when necessary, to the NSWCCORDIV Command Information Officer (CIO) or his/her designateBE able to configure and optimize network routers, and switchesHave the ability to access all necessary communication closets, and configure and deploy network equipmentBe capable of changing VLANs on network port configurations to assist in deploying network devices across the baseBe able to pull switch activity logs, as well as switch capacity reportsHave the capability to activate, deactivate, install, remove, label, trouble-shoot, repair, and maintain NMCI infrastructure, as well as assist with future planning and network expansion Execute asset management tasks, using robust network scans, and report weekly on changesBe able to troubleshoot and either correct or escalate for resolution of network performance issues reaching back to servers at the requisite NMCI Server Farm(s)Have direct access to VIP Service desk support services and provide expedited servicing to NSWCCORDIV VIPs.REQUIREMENTS:10 years of experience in Information TechnologyBachelors Degree in IT or related field of studyIAT Level 2CompTIA S+ or above required Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching (CCNA Routing and Switching)Candidates must be US citizens able to obtain and/or maintain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance as a condition of employmentEEO EmployerApex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
