Emerson Application Engineer- Southeast in Jefferson City, Missouri

If you are an Application Engineer looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! We seek a skilled and experienced Application Engineer to oversee and manage projects related to feeding systems in our organization. The successful candidate will coordinate and lead projects from conception to completion, ensuring that they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and quality assurance, to deliver high-quality feeding solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations. This is a remote position.

IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:

Offer Creation:

  • Develop comprehensive and compelling proposals through meticulous analysis and collaboration with the field sales representative, the customer's machine builder application, and design engineers.

  • Formulate innovative technical solutions tailored to meet client requirements.

  • Calculate feeding solutions with all add-ons.

  • Prepare polished and presentable offers, ensuring clarity and professionalism.

  • Articulate and discuss the proposal with the sales team, making adjustments as necessary.

Overall Project Responsibility:

  • Assume end-to-end project responsibility, ensuring consistency to deadlines, cost considerations, and quality standards.

  • Manage claims and optimally address issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.

  • Facilitate internal escalation processes in response to project challenges.

  • Coordinate project-related meetings, collaborating closely with employees from relevant departments.

  • Take charge of coordination and acceptance procedures both internally and at the customer's site.

Sales Support:

  • Conduct joint customer visits and consultations during the inquiry and concept phases.

  • Articulate solution concepts to customers, ensuring a thorough understanding.

  • Provide technical support in online meetings, serving as a valuable resource for the operations team.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for operational/application inquiries, offering prompt and knowledgeable assistance.

This role demands a dynamic approach, ranging from the meticulous creation of offers to comprehensive project management/solutions and dedicated sales support. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing feeding solutions, crafting and communicating compelling proposals, ensuring seamless project progression, and providing valuable technical support to the sales and operations teams.

WHO YOU ARE:

This detailed profile seeks a candidate with a strong educational foundation, technical expertise, and a consistent track record in the feeding and automation arena. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication and negotiation skills and be able to collaborate effectively across internal departments and with external partners.

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics-Precision Engineering, or two to three years of relevant experience.

  • Skilled and experienced Application Engineer to oversee and manage projects related to feeding systems.

  • Experienced in project management with a solid grasp of project controlling, ensuring alignment to timelines and budgets.

  • Demonstrated competence in cross-functional collaboration with design, assembly, manufacturing, and Quality Management (QM) to achieve project objectives.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, proficient in delivering compelling presentations to diverse audiences, and effective negotiation skills with a focus on maintaining project security

  • Experience in dealing with customers, understanding their requirements, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Decision-maker and problem-solver, adaptable to evolving project requirements and dynamic work environments.

  • Willing to travel and work flexible hours to meet project demands and support international collaborations.

  • Proficient in standard office applications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:

  • Confirmed Key Account Leadership skills, ideally within the automation customer base

  • Understanding experience in the automation/ machine building sector

  • Experience with CAD – CAM software is preferred.

  • Experience in feeding technology is a plus

  • Validated skills to build and present presentations regarding the subject matter to move an opportunity forward.

  • Detail oriented, ability to work well under pressure

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, high-pressure environment; strong initiative and good judgment and decision-making capabilities

  • Proficient in English, with a preference for additional proficiency in other languages to facilitate effective communication in a global context.

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The salary range for this role is $73,522.00- $110,283.00 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
