Description Robert Half is actively looking to hire an enthusiastic Accounting Clerk for a premier organization. In this position, you will be responsible for playing an essential role in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R), general data entry, and aligning invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers. This is a long-term contract / temporary to hire position located in the Jersey City, New Jersey area.

What you get to do every single day

• Aid Accounts Payable: A/P invoice matching & filing, vendor invoices and disbursement filing

• General accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects

• Square up discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required

• Collaborate with Accounts Receivable: process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, and help with collection of past due balance

• Transmit financial information to journals and ledgers

• Assemble documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of accounting codes and expenditure codes

• Produce statements and reports that require utilization of a variety of sources Requirements - Outstanding data entry skills

• Spreadsheet and ERP system experience is ideal, but not required

• Ability to multitask and attention to detail are critical

• Strong familiarity with Dispute Resolution

• Coding Classification experience highly desired

• Foundational knowledge in customer service

• Billing experience desired

• Demonstrated knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Adeptness in Research Discrepancies

• Command of Perform Data Entry

• AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred
