Qualifications:

Required:

• BSN degree from an accredited school

• Minimum of 2 3 years experience in a hospital setting

• Successful completion of all Orientation Programs

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Proficient computer Skills

• Strong critical thinking and assessment skills

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• Active NJ RN license or compact RN license with NJ endorsement

• BLS from the American Heart Association

• Certification as required by law, stature, and or regulation of area or specialization

Scheduling Requirements:

• Day Shift, 40 hours a week

• Monday Friday

• Full Time

Essential Functions:

• Performs all aspects of hospital wide performance improvement activities with special focus on coordination of stoke initiatives,

• The Stroke Coordinator interacts in a collaborative role with physicians, nurses and other health care professionals to advance evidence-based practices related to stroke management,

• Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and controls clinical and administrative functions for Stroke Management services in accordance with hospital strategic plans,

• Coordinator is responsible for completion of stroke measures data abstraction for both DNV accreditation and State of NJ primary stroke certification,

• Participates in hospital wide initiatives in support of performance improvement, regulatory, and accreditation process overall,

• Investigates high risk occurrences, develops plan of correction accordingly,
