Tradeweb Security Operations Engineer in Jersey City, New Jersey

Tradeweb’s Security Operations team is on the front lines, protecting Tradeweb’s clients and employees from the constantly evolving threat landscape. This role will lead to supporting and enhancing our existing Security Operations program as part of our transformation into a hybrid operating model. The ideal candidate will have a combination of hands-on, technical experience and a proven track record leading cutting-edge incident response teams. The role will also have an opportunity to work with subject matter experts not only within cyber security, but across infrastructure, data analytics, application development, and business teams.

Job Responsibilities

  • Key member of the Security Operations Detection and Response function.

  • Mature existing processes and drive adoption of security automation to support key cyber security initiatives.

  • Act as an incident responder to execute Tradeweb’s incident response process, providing clear direction and technical guidance to both technical and non-technical teams.

  • Support and mentor junior SOC analysts as a senior member of the team.

  • Assist in building, testing, deploying, and managing search logic to detect threats within the Tradeweb network.

  • Build internal partnerships with key business stakeholders, particularly those in our Compliance, Infrastructure, and Risk organizations.

  • Publish related metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs) and key risk indicators (KRIs) as well as provide regular updates to the senior management.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of combined experience in information security and related technical disciplines, with at least 4 years focusing on security operations, incident response or cyber threat investigations.

  • In-depth experience with operating environments with a focus on disk and memory forensic analysis.

  • Experienced threat hunter with a track record of delivering actionable results in a unique and highly regulated environment.

  • Experience with full cycle use case development and detection engineering across multiple log sources and SIEM technologies.

  • Demonstrated experience maturing dedication and response teams with a deep technical focus.

  • Strong knowledge of SIEM technologies and hands-on experience with at least one or more of the following technologies: Splunk, ELK, Chronicle, XSIAM.

  • Ability to translate and operationalize technical, legal, and compliance requirements in a heavily regulated environment.

  • Clear and concise communicator that can articulate risk and impact across a wide range of audiences, to ensure decision makers have the information they need.

  • Deep knowledge of network security architecture, internet protocols and web service technologies.

  • Financial services experience is preferable, or experience in the financial technology (‘FinTech’) area

  • CISSP, CISM or equivalent qualifications preferred.

  • The current pay range for this role if performed in the city of New York is currently $120,000 to $240,000 per year, based on a regular, full-time schedule. The amount of pay offered will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to qualifications, market data, geographic location, and internal guidelines.
