About the Internship

Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) is a program of projects and initiatives that utilize world class principles and best practices to assess, maintain, and manage the Agency’s physical assets throughout their lifecycle while providing visibility into their health. Through workforce empowerment and continuous improvement in processes, technology, work methods, and tools, the EAM Program optimizes asset risk, performance, and cost.

Responsibilities

  • Asset Management Standards Development & Requirements Gathering

  • Assist the Governance Team in developing standards and procedures for Asset Management focus areas (e.g., operations & maintenance improvements and asset performance).

  • Spearhead research initiatives regarding future technology solutions that may form part of the Program’s strategic roadmap.

  • Assist in requirements gathering for technology solutions.

  • Asset Management Benchmarking

  • Benchmark the EAM Program with peer transportation agencies in areas such as: technology utilization (i.e., IBM Maximo, BIM/GIS utilization, asset investment planning solution, data collection solutions); asset data handover from capital projects; asset portfolio key performance indicators (KPIs); and incorporation of EAM practices in wider agency business process (e.g., aligning physical asset registry with financial asset registry, etc.).

  • Continuous Improvement Projects

  • Lead continuous improvement project(s) to improve the overall daily operations of the Enterprise Asset Management Division and/or its partner departments and facilities.

  • Data Analysis & Transformation

  • Analyze asset and maintenance data to inform asset lifecycle planning efforts.

  • Transform and prepare asset and maintenance data for load to enterprise environments like IBM Maximo and ArcGIS.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Enrollment at a college/university through Summer 2025 and into the Fall 2025 semester

  • Major in Engineering, Asset Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or Public Administration

Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, team-based environment.

  • Microsoft Excel

  • Data analytics experience

Internship Details

  • The start date will be Thursday, May 29, 2025

  • The internship will last approximately 12 weeks, ending on Friday, August 22, 2025

  • This is a full-time internship (5 days per week at 7.25 hours per day)

  • The format is expected to be hybrid.

Compensation & Benefits

  • The hourly rate range is $20.70 to $27.21 (the exact rate will be determined by internship type and rising school year)
