Job Summary:

In this role you will be responsible for end to end execution of short term and long term production planning, material planning, and capacity management to satisfy customer expectations. This roles serves as a critical input to the site and global SIOE and SIOP processes as well as managing site strategic metrics. This role will work closely with Site Operations, Commercial, and Customer Success to facilitate market objectives. This roles is expected to analyze performance results and develop corrective actions to further continuous improvement objectives while upholding West’s standards for Safety, Quality, and Operational Excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage master schedules in alignment with customer orders and sales forecasts

  • Conduct capacity analysis to optimize work loads and customer lead times

  • Support Global strategic initiatives

  • Analyze production performance and collaborate with site operations to address areas in need of continuous improvement

  • Manage fulfillment strategies and collaborate with Global Supply Planning to optimize service levels

  • Execute planning process improvement initiatives in coordination with Global Supply Chain Center of Excellence

  • Execute planning strategies to facilitate inventory management and customer service expectations

  • Escalate risks to relevant site and global functions

  • Participate in site business reviews as well Global programs such as SIOE and SIOP processes

  • Develop business continuity strategies locally along with global partnerships with other sites in the West network

  • Partner with Global Critical Materials Management to ensure schedule execution

  • Support Global Capacity Strat planning as well as new business integration

  • Assist Sr. Supply Chain Manager in deployment of high-level strategies into the production environment

  • Manage and develop team members primarily but not limited to production planners, production schedulers, and material planners

  • Supports plant operations outside traditional work hours while the site is running production

  • Comply with the company’s safety policy at all times

  • Comply with the company’s quality policy at all times

  • Comply with the SOPs, as per Company policy, as relevant to the position covered by this Job Description

  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, or relevant field

  • 5-10 years of experience in production planning using advanced MRP system within a manufacturing environment

  • Experience with SAP required

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Ability to process raw data and present as supportive information

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience as direct manager of 3 or more team members

  • Masters Degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain

  • Advanced knowledge of MRP software

  • Advanced understanding of MRP master data (i.e., BOMs, routings, MOQ, lead time)

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Detail oriented with exceptional time management and multi-tasking ability

  • Proven ability to develop reports and analyze data

  • Knowledge of Lean / Continuous Improvement methodologies

Travel Requirements:

  • Less than 5% of the time
