Robert Half Plant Controller in Jessup, Maryland

Description

Robert Half is searching for an energetic, self-directed Plant Controller to join a growing company located in the vibrant city of Baltimore. This exciting and challenging role involves creating and setting up financial management systems from the ground up, demanding both strategic leadership and hands-on involvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish, implement, and optimize finance and accounting procedures, ensuring adherence to corporate guidelines and compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Drive continuous improvement in transparency of financial information and key metrics, using these insights to guide strategic business decisions.

  • Oversee and manage the financial aspects of plant operation such as capital expenditures, inventories, budgeting, cost analysis and reporting.

  • Partner with operational leadership to align financial policies and controls with company objectives and industry standards.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts and analyze performance against these forecasts.

  • Develop and lead a finance team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Successful candidates should demonstrate:

  • Strong initiative and the ability to handle increasing responsibility over time.

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail.

  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with ‘roll-up-the-sleeves’ operational engagement.

  • Proven success in creating and implementing financial systems and processes.

Requirements

• Familiarity with financial software and Microsoft Office

• Strong analytical skills to manage large amounts of data

• Attention to detail and accuracy in work

• Excellent communication skills to present financial information

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and cost structures

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or any related field

• Detail oriented certification such as CMA or CPA is a plus
