Innovation Associates, Inc. Mechanical Engineering Intern in Johnson City, New York

The Role:

The Mechanical Engineering Intern will provide engineering support and engage in research and/or product development within the Mechanical Engineering Department. The Mechanical Engineering Intern will gain a unique opportunity to discover strategies for real-world application of engineering theories, as well as skills and experience necessary to prepare for a successful career.

The iA Intern Program is from Tuesday May 27, 2025 to Friday August 1, 2025.

What you'll do:

  • 3D design and drafting of mechanical/electrical components and assemblies

  • Perform engineering analyses

  • Project and process activities

  • Work with vendors for component fabrications and cost reduction opportunities

  • Assist in assembly of equipment

  • Support equipment debug and troubleshooting operations

    Who you are:

  • Actively pursing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

  • Ability to respond to changing situations

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Attention to detail and high organization skills

  • High proficiency with computer programs

  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills

    It would be great if you also have:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications

  • Ability to work independently

  • Results driven

    Compensation:

    The estimated hourly rate range for this position is $18.00 to $26.00 per hour, though a candidate's hourly rate shall be determined on a range of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications and experience.
