Position Summary:
The Compliance and Privacy Officer will support Conemaugh Health System and will be responsible for serving as an expert in compliance, privacy, and ethics, and provides oversight of these System-wide programs to ensure that they are effectively designed, implemented, taught and actively managed. The position ensures that the Board of Trustees, leadership, staff and, as required, agents and sub-contractors, are in compliance with state and federal laws and the rules and regulations of regulatory agencies, that company policies are aligned with these requirements. Additionally, this position ensures that company policies and procedures are being followed, and that conduct meets the policies, including the company’s Code of Conduct and Conflicts of Interest process.

Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION:Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field required. Master’s Degree in related field preferred

EXPERIENCE:
· Minimum five (5) years of progressive Compliance-related experience in a healthcare setting or equivalent experience in compliance related activities such as auditing, coding, billing or healthcare law.
· Progressive levels of responsibility, with managerial oversight of a department or departments.
· Minimum ten (10) years of direct experience in hospital or other healthcare compliance, an understanding of revenue cycle operations; and managerial experience preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:
· CHC, CPA, CPC, RN, CCS, JD or related fields, preferred.

Technical Computer Skills: Demonstrate use of intermediate computer operations (basic programming, relational databases, and operating systems) and intermediate software packages.
