FMH Conveyors has an immediate opening for aRegional Sales Manager - Western U.S.Reporting directly to the Vice President of Sales, the Regional Sales Manager is responsible for the promotion and sales of all FMH Conveyors' product lines for the assigned region. As a member of the Sales team, this position will collaborate with the other functional teams (Product Managers, Inside Sales, Operations, Engineering, Finance, Lifecycle Services, and HR) on executing company strategies, meeting budgets and the work unit planned processes. This individual must demonstrate hands-on leadership in unison with the Vice President of Sales on implementing strong cultural beliefs and values throughout the organization.
Essential Responsibilities:
Meets regional sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, managing expenditures, initiating corrective actions, etc.
Meets sales objectives by following sales plan and meeting quotas
60%+ of time spent travelling in territory calling on accounts
Account development and solution identification
Needs assessment, process verification, advise of possible solutions
Meet with decision makers – account review, opportunity review, next steps
Target 8-10 meetings per week
Understand plant operations, products, and objectives
Propose/Quote/Close
Approximately 40% of time spent in office (home office)
Follow up on active opportunities
Itinerary planning for upcoming weeks – scheduling meetings
Calls to existing customers
All sales activity recorded in CRM system
Quoting of projects utilizing quoting tool
Schedule and calendar kept in CRM
Maintain pipeline of opportunities – appropriate follow up and next steps recorded
Work with Product Managers for technical and sales support
Expense reports due bi-monthly (weekly is preferred)
Weekly activity call – Monday with sales team
Attend trade shows and sales meetings as scheduled
Responsible for establishing demo criteria for field demonstrations
Position Requirements:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two years sales experience, material handling sector preferred
ERP systems experience and a willingness & capability to learn new computer software programs
Strong analytical, administrative, and organizational skills
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with a wide variety of company personnel
Must be able to work independently as well collaborate with the sales team
Exceptional organizational skills required
Physical Requirements:
Stand, walk, or be mobile for up to an eight-hour shift; bend, twist and reach with arms and hands, dexterity with fingers to handle, feel objects, tools or controls. May occasionally need to lift or move up to 50 pounds. Position will require specific vision ability such as close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
Extensive travel is required, often via commercial airline carrier.
