St. Bernard's Medical Center STAFF PHARMACIST in JONESBORO, Arkansas
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
Graduation from an accredited school of pharmacy with at least a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSPH) degree required. Must be licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of Arkansas, such licensure granted by the State Board of Pharmacy after passing the required examinations or by reciprocity based in passing such examinations in another state.
Experience
A hospital pharmacy residency and/or previous experience in hospital pharmacy is preferred.

Normal hospital environment. Close eye work. Hearing within normal range. Operates computer, typewriter, calculator. Finger dexterity. Eye-hand coordination. Frequent sitting, standing and walking. May lift and carry up to 35 lbs. Some exposure to chemical hazards when making chemotherapy.
JOB SUMMARY
Compounds and dispenses medications according to orders of practitioners authorized by law to prescribe. Supervises and checks work of supportive personnel. Must be knowledgeable of standard pharmaceutical techniques and procedures, laws governing the practice of pharmacy, drug incompatibilities and interactions, pharmacology and toxicology. Job duties include but are not limited to: review of medication orders, clinical consultation, staff education, patient counseling, continuous quality improvement initiatives, pharmacist-managed dosing programs and pharmacy related research. The staff pharmacist may serve on various hospital committees. He/she provides direction, oversight, and coordination of pharmacy students and residents.
