Kalamazoo County Government Relief Worker in Kalamazoo, Michigan
On-call Relief Workers employees hired between 3-1-2024 and 12-31-2024 will be eligible for a one-time incentive payment of $1,000.00.
Additional criteria to qualify for an Incentive Payment: On-call Relief Workers must complete 1000 hours to qualify.* *
GENERAL SUMMARY
The purpose of this job is to supervise the safety and security of juvenile court wards and provide positive reinforcement and discipline.* *
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor and ensure the safety and security of all residents and facility staff.
- Possess clear knowledge of and adhere to all facility policies and procedures.
- Ensure individual and group interaction with residents.
- Conduct individual and group interactions with co-workers and administration.
- Paperwork/information management.
- Perform related work as required.* *
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience
- At least two years of relevant college-level course work or an Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in criminal justice, sociology, psychology, or a related field, with completion of an undergraduate degree preferred.
- Some work experience working with juveniles is required. Working with troubled youths is preferred.
- Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
