Logan Health Speech Language Pathologist | PRN status Kalispell, Montana
Job Description Summary:
Plans and implements specific and individualized treatment programs to patients according to the principles of Speech/Language Pathology. Care is rendered in a safe and effective manner that is consistent with scope of practice and Logan Health policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Minimum of one (1) of the following required:
Current Montana Speech/Language Pathology license.
Graduate of an accredited Speech Language Pathologist program and must successfully obtain Montana Speech/Language Pathology license within thirty (3) days of hire.
Current HS AED CPR or BLS HCP certification or must successfully obtain within six (6) months of hire as applicable to assigned area(s).
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in assigned specialty area preferred.
As applicable to assigned area(s):
Must have capability to connect to internet for daily data exchange.
To be eligible for the Driver portion of the position:
Current Driver’s License required.
Driving record for the previous thirty-six (36) months must not reflect any major driving offenses (i.e; DUI, convicted of a felony involving a motor vehicle, suspended license, three (3) or more speeding tickets or other moving violations, etc.).
In addition, personal vehicles used for LH business:
State law minimum liability coverage limits required.
Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.
Job Specific Duties:
Develops, implements, and revises individualized, goal directed speech therapy through a skilled process of evaluation and ongoing assessment of each patient.
Performs comprehensive assessments that reflect the patient’s physical, functional, mental, emotional, social and environmental status as applicable to assigned area(s).
Performs necessary technical skills as delineated by education and experience and as evaluated in the organizations Clinical Competency Checklist as applicable to assigned area(s).
Effectively plans, communicates, and delegates to provide therapy services in a competent and efficient manner.
Performs patient treatment according to established speech therapy standards and department policies and procedures as applicable to assigned area(s).
Completes admission, discharge evaluations, daily assessments and identifies individual goals for each patient as applicable to assigned area(s).
Completes all required documentation in a timely manner according to payer guidelines (Medicare, private insurance, Medicaid) and Montana practice guidelines for physical therapy.
Enhances rehabilitation services by participating in projects/programs within the department, the facility and the community as applicable to assigned area(s).
Achieves set productivity standards per department protocol and as applicable to assigned area(s).
Operates and maintains equipment to departmental standards as applicable to assigned area(s).
Maintains Speech Language/Pathology standards of care, and executes appropriate provider orders.
While executing patient care, demonstrates knowledge of and maintains the patient’s right to diversity, privacy and confidentiality.
Communicates all appropriate and critical changes in the patient’s condition, status and findings to the appropriate stakeholder in a timely manner or as defined by policies and procedures as applicable to assigned area(s).
Documents all clinical findings and required regulatory mandates in the chart in compliance with policies and procedures or as defined by regulatory requirements.

Schedule:
Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
