UPMC Cardiopulmonary Rehab Nurse in Kane, Pennsylvania
UPMC is excited to invite you to apply for the position of Cardiopulmonary Rehab Nurse! This full-time opportunity offers dayshift schedule, Monday through Friday, with no weekends or holidays required. Responsibilities:
Integrates national professional standards with business unit and health system goals to enhance patient safety, quality, and satisfaction. Contributes to improving the patient experience by fostering compassionate, patient-centered care and building strong relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
Assesses patient conditions, monitors vital signs, and observes for changes in health status. Reports significant changes or incidents to physicians and management, ensuring timely responses. Provides emotional support to patients and families and educates them on treatment plans.
Completes thorough evaluations and accurate documentation of patient assessments. Develops and monitors individualized treatment plans, considering the patient’s age, medical history, and progress. Adjusts treatment as necessary to meet evolving patient needs.
Prepares and implements discharge plans for both inpatient and outpatient settings. Responds effectively to emergencies, adhering to department guidelines to ensure patient safety and care continuity.
Communicates clearly and effectively with the care team, sharing updates on patient conditions, advocating for necessary care changes, and recommending unit improvements. Promotes comprehensive patient documentation to enhance communication among caregivers.
Demonstrates commitment to professional development and ongoing improvement in patient care quality. Actively participates in unit governance and goal setting, supporting the transition process for improved care outcomes and practice environments.
Cultivates positive relationships with colleagues and patients, showing accountability, enthusiasm, and respect for cultural differences. Balances professional responsibilities with personal well-being and contributes to a healthy work environment.
Participates in continuing education, staff development, and quality improvement initiatives. Applies research and evidence-based practices to improve clinical care, actively engages in patient satisfaction efforts, and supports the development of students and new staff.
Graduate of an approved school for registered nurses
Minimum of 3 years nursing experience
ACLS certification
Licensure/Certification: Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in practicing state; license or eligible for State Board ACSM
Preferred:
- Minimum of 3 years ED/acute care hospital experience or 2 years critical care experience
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Exercise Specialist Certification or CEP preferred CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hireCurrent licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse either in the state where the facility is located or in a state covered by a licensure compact agreement with the state where the facility is located
Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Registered Nurse (RN)
Act 34 with renewal
*Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
