UPMC Certified Athletic Trainer - UPMC Kane & Kane Area HS in Kane, Pennsylvania

Job Responsibilities:
Assess patients' current function and plan appropriate rehabilitation programs.
Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment and provide recommendations to physicians, coaches, or parents.
Obtain and interpret information considering age-specific needs.
Assist physicians with screening patients with sports-related injuries.
Treat patients to relieve pain and restore neuromuscular function, documenting progress and reactions.
Establish and re-evaluate patient goals, documenting referrals to the sports medicine.
Educate and instruct patients, families, coaches, and community agencies on rehabilitation.
Provide coverage at athletic events, administering emergency first aid and care.
Manage the budgetary process for the athletic training program at the respective school.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field
Must be licensed by the State of Pennsylvania as an Athletic Trainer when implemented by Public Law 515 (Physical Therapy Practice Act).
Athletic Trainer
Athletic Trainer Certified (ATC)
Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Act 114 PDE FBI Clearance
Act 33 with renewal
Act 34 with renewal
