Responsibilities:

• Collaborating with the healthcare team to assess, plan, and implement patient care

• Communicating changes in patient conditions to ensure timely interventions

• Documenting patient information comprehensively to support caregiver communication

• Providing patient and family education for effective care transitions

• Mentoring and supporting the orientation of new staff members

• Actively participating in quality improvement and process improvement initiatives

• Upholding UPMC standards for compassionate, patient-centered care in a supportive, collaborative environment

• 1+ years of nursing experience strongly preferred.

• Completion of IV therapy curriculum within 4 months of hire/transfer (required if graduated before 2012)

• Strong teamwork skills and ability to build positive relationships with patients, families, and staff

• Ability to handle complex environments, prioritize tasks, and use electronic health records

• Physical ability for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances

• Active LPN license in the practicing state or within the Nursing Licensure Compact

• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification

• Act 33,34
