Join our care delivery team as a Professional Staff Nurse, where you'll set high standards for nursing care, manage patient activities, and collaborate with healthcare providers to achieve exceptional outcomes while demonstrating your commitment to the community and the nursing profession

Responsibilities:

  • Builds Productive Relationships: Develops and maintains strong working relationships with patients and colleagues through accountability, enthusiasm, and cultural sensitivity.

  • Promotes Work-Life Balance: Models time management and healthy lifestyle practices while maintaining a balance between work and personal life.

  • Educates Patients and Staff: Applies adult learning principles to effectively teach patients, families, and new staff, ensuring smooth transitions in care.

  • Utilizes Relationship-Based Care: Implements the nursing process to create a healing environment, involving patients in their care plans and addressing their holistic needs.

  • Demonstrates Critical Thinking: Identifies and addresses clinical, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual issues in patient care, communicating effectively with the care team.

  • Ensures Professional Development: Holds accountability for continuous professional growth and actively participates in shared governance to enhance care quality and environment.

  • Engages in Quality Improvement: Actively participates in unit-specific quality improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities and taking responsibility for enhancing patient satisfaction.

  • Incorporates Evidence-Based Practice: Utilizes research to inform clinical care improvements and actively discusses quality enhancement opportunities during multidisciplinary rounds.

Seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Registered Nurse to provide age-specific care on our assigned unit. The ideal candidate will have a BSN (preferred) and 0-2 years of experience, demonstrating a strong understanding of growth and development principles. Key responsibilities include assessing patient needs, establishing positive relationships with staff and families, and applying critical thinking and clinical judgment to deliver high-quality patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Current RN licensure in the state of employment or multistate compact agreement.

  • CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to adapt to a complex environment with changing priorities.

  • Physical stamina for frequent walking, lifting, and positioning of patients.

Special Programs:

UPMC offers flexible options, including night and weekend shifts with premium pay differentials. Candidates must have at least 6 months of nursing experience to qualify for these programs.
