UMB Bank Business Continuity Analyst (Hybrid) in Kansas City, Missouri

As a Business Continuity Analyst you will provide general support for the Business Continuity Program by assisting with the response to resiliency incidents, reviewing recovery plans to verify completeness and adherence to the corporate recovery plan format, providing support for business continuity testing by scheduling meetings and gathering business unit test scripts, participating in recovery tests, assisting with utilization for the automated notification system, and other duties as assigned. We’re looking for someone comfortable with not having the same day-to-day routine and eager to learn multiple areas of the business as you will be supporting different departments.

How you’ll spend your time:

  • Review departmental Resumption/Recovery plans to verify completeness and adherence to the corporate recovery plan format, including proper accountability for their interdependence upon other bank functions.

  • Provide support for business continuity testing as part of Disaster Recovery Exercises, including scheduling of business unit meetings, updating and gathering of business unit test scripts, and testing support during the actual exercise.

  • Coordinate contingency testing schedules at assigned recovery sites and participate in the recovery tests.

  • Assist with incident management during major business incidents or as requested by manager.

  • Assist with utilization of the automated notification system, including scheduling and executing business unit exercises.

  • Schedule and support functional business unit tabletop exercises.

  • Assist with coordination of communication of continuity issues to bank personnel, including senior management.

  • Provide administrative support during any recovery efforts, including assisting with re-location of business units to their recovery space as required.

We’re excited to talk with you if:

  • You have a degree in business or public administration OR four (4) years related work experience in banking or contingency planning.

  • You have the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written reports.  

  • You can establish and maintain working relationships with associates involved in contingency planning.

  • You possess strong critical thinking and analytic skills, including the ability to perform data analysis to support and draw conclusions

Bonus points if:

  • You have an Associate Business Continuity Professional accreditation

  • You have knowledge of the financial services industry.

  • You have understanding of business continuity best practices, standards, and regulatory requirements.

This is a hybrid position with the expectation to be on-site on Tuesdays through Thursdays .

Compensation Range:

Minimum: $51,480.00 - Maximum: $119,200.00

The posted compensation range on this listing represents UMB’s standard for this role, but the actual compensation may vary by geographic location, experience level, and other job-related factors.
