Honeywell Construction Project Manager II in Kansas City, Missouri

Summary

Performs and coordinates moderately complex construction management activities related to construction projects and related industrial infrastructure to meet Honeywell, National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the frontline contact for external customers, addressing their inquiries, resolving concerns, and nurturing positive rapport.

  • Maintain records of project status, progress, and milestones. Prepare reports offering a thorough understanding of project performance.

  • Assist in developing and managing project schedules, collaborating closely with stakeholders to ensure punctual completion in alignment with customer expectations.

  • Identify potential risks and actively work to mitigate challenges that could impact project success. Collaborate with the team to devise effective risk management strategies.

  • Oversee project budgets, track expenses, and work closely with the finance department to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.

  • Maintain progress tracking, ensuring seamless project advancement even without direct oversight.

  • Foster a spirit of teamwork within the group, aiding colleagues and making positive contributions to the team's collective goals.

  • Maintain open and clear communication among project teams, stakeholders, contractors, and external customers. Regularly provide updates on project progress and potential hurdles.

You Must Have

  • Must have at least 2 years relevant work experience.

  • A bachelors degree in construction management, project management, engineering, or a related field, or 2 years of additional experience in construction project management.

  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time.

  • Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.

  • United States Citizenship.

  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).

  • Ability to perform construction observations for progress and document results.

  • Ability to coordinate project acceptance with conditions and document through completion.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • PMP certification or its equivalent.

  • Experience in Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).

  • Experience collaborating with Federal Government clientele.

  • A background in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • A track record of successfully managing projects up to or exceeding $10M.

  • A solid understanding of project management principles, techniques, and methodologies.

  • Exceptional organizational skills with an innate ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.

  • Detail oriented; possess professional presence, maturity and judgment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving prowess.

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Proficiency in relevant software tools, encompassing project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
