Ervin Cable Inside Plant (ISP) Designer I in Kansas City, Missouri
A successful Inside Plant (ISP) Designer I shall assist in the design of coax, copper, and fiber optic telecommunications facilities, including routing, specifying necessary equipment, and using equipment within unique network topologies and architectures. At a minimum, the position requires a good working knowledge of design software such as ArcGIS and/or CAD; basic IT skills, and the ability to read, understand, interpret, and analyze data. Knowledge of telecommunications network structure is helpful though not required, we will train.

the ability to read and understand highway/road prints and identify conflicts with outside plant facilities
the ability to perform independently with minimal supervision, exercising latitude to achieve daily objectives
the ability to work seated at a table for extended periods
Responsibilities:
Completion of high level engineering tasks in support of an assigned department/project
Communicate with employees, contractors, vendors, and/or customers to assist assigned department/project
Completion of daily production reports to document work performed
Receive, organize, file, and maintain documents and/or data as well as read, interpret, input, and analyze data
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field or 4 years of related work experience
Proficient in the use of hardware and software (PCs, Tablets, IKE, ArcMap, Ocalc Pro, CAD, ArcGIS, Google, etc.)
Proficient in assigned function (Drafting, Designing, Make Ready, Geographic Information Systems, etc.)
Authorized to work in the United States
Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen, background, and motor vehicle record check
To be considered for this position, a candidate must possess the ability to sit for long periods of time, while using repetitive and/or fine hand movements to complete computer related tasks and/or other office functions. Work is performed indoors and in a typical office environment.
