Actalent Project Manager in Kansas City, Missouri

Job Title: Project ManagerJob Description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to work with our low voltage team on a variety of projects, including K-12, federal, industrial, and commercial. The scope of work includes managing all aspects of fiber, network, access controls, AV, fire alarm, security, and other low voltage systems.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee multiple crews on major projects.

  • Manage material procurement and requisition needs.

  • Establish workflows and sequences to ensure projects remain on track.

  • Enforce safety regulations and foster a culture of workplace safety.

  • Meet with customers and manage billing and financials.

  • Review construction contract documents and coordinate with subcontractors and General Contractor/owner to gather required information.

  • Determine construction feasibility and systems possibilities using analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Create a stock list for all materials required throughout the project.

  • Develop initial schedules for preliminary project work.

  • Develop positive and ongoing relationships with customers to ensure expectations are met.

  • Conduct long-range project planning and scheduling.

  • Monitor and manage projects to comply with safety, quality, productivity, and profitability requirements.

  • Support the management of field labor force to ensure maximum efficiency.

  • Ensure proper staffing is in place on each project.

  • Identify changes in projects that impact cost, schedule, or labor requirements.

  • Ensure change orders and estimates are completed in a timely manner.

  • Monitor project billings for accuracy and maintain a positive cash flow.

  • Continually monitor project progress and review reports to ensure compliance with schedule and budgetary guidelines.

  • Assist or lead during the field check stage of the project.

  • Forecast future manpower requirements.

  • Ensure work complies with codes and permits.

  • Administer construction contracts, approve work quality, and payment requests.

  • Report to owner and general contractor about progress and necessary modifications.

  • Recommend improvements in project management procedures and overall company business practices.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as a Project Manager on low voltage projects

  • Strong computer skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Work Environment

The work environment involves managing various low voltage projects across different industries such as K-12, federal, industrial, and commercial. You will be working with a team and overseeing multiple crews, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. The role requires a high level of interaction with customers, subcontractors, and general contractors.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $41.00
