Overview

The Supervisor, Research Solution Architect will work with the leadership of Research informatics, Research Administration and CMRI research community to develop functional requirements and roadmaps for high quality applications and systems used to enable research in the Children's Mercy Research Institute. The incumbent will serve as a liaison between the engineering teams and the research community to ensure optimal alignment between capabilities and user requirements. The role will manage projects and document user requirements in a lean and agile manner that promotes efficient development and delivery of the required capabilities using best practices. The incumbent will contribute to the planning, development, documentation and implementation of comprehensive QA/QI test plans to ensure that systems and programs are tested and validated. This role will supervise Project Manager(s) and Business Analyst(s), and/or similar roles.

Responsibilities

  • Independently lead and manage projects ranging from moderate to high complexity.

  • Serve as a liaison between the engineering team, the research community and project management to deliver internally developed solutions and vendor solutions. Implement comprehensive QA/QI test plans for primarily 3rd party application capabilities in collaboration with Business Analyst(s).

  • Supervise staff; lead/recommend improvement of tools and processes; and document long range roadmap for Research Informatics.

  • Strong analytical and technical abilities, negotiation and problem-solving skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to lead multiple projects and manage priorities

  • Effective listener and collaborator

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Information Systems, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related academic field. 5-7 years experience Experience in Research, Information Systems or software development role qualifies as work experience. Project management experience implementing projects with a wide variety of assignments.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Required Upon Hire

  • Agile, Scrum Master and/or Six Sigma certification Preferred Upon Hire

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $43.24/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is entirely remote or work-from-home. The person hired must live in the Kansas City metro area and may attend on-site meetings, as scheduled.
