Summary You will serve as a PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST in the PUBLIC AFFAIRS OFFICE of PACIFIC MISSILE RANGE FACILITY. Responsibilities You will coordinate activities and events with other community relations officers, public affair officials, and local business representatives for outreach effort. You will develop social media and internet-based engagement strategies and tactics to support a communication campaign. You will act as a command spokesperson to provide accurate and credible responses to media and public inquiries. You will arrange special events (e.g., open houses, guided tours, ground-breaking ceremonies, dedications) to promote community relations. You will advise senior leaders on media requests, crisis communications, and pending issues that could negatively impact the organization and its operations. You will draft responses, speeches, or other written materials for internal and external audiences. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following skills: 1) Writing a variety of articles, news releases and speeches providing information and clarification of the organizational operations, programs; 2) maintaining and establishing effective working relations with local and national media representatives and general public; 3) making oral presentation to various internal and external groups informing them of programs, objectives and activities; and 4) applying a variety of analytical techniques in gathering, analyzing and evaluating complex data and recommendations.
