We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Cost Accountant situated in Kearny, New Jersey. This role will be vital in our financial department, dealing with cost accounting, cost analysis, inventory accounting, and inventory analysis. The successful candidate will be responsible for month-end close and will have a significant contribution in our manufacturing cost accounting processes.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and maintain cost accounting data to ensure accuracy

• Conduct inventory accounting and analysis to optimize inventory levels and reduce costs

• Perform cost analysis to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements

• Execute month-end close procedures, ensuring deadlines are met and accurate financial reporting

• Assist in manufacturing cost accounting processes, contributing to overall operational efficiency

• Utilize accounting software systems for efficient data processing and record keeping

• Adhere to financial regulations and standards, including DCAA and Costpoint requirements

• Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes and improve financial understanding

• Continually develop and update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.

Requirements • Proficiency in Cost Accounting is crucial for this role.

• Strong skills in Cost Analysis are required.

• Expertise in Inventory Accounting is necessary.

• Capability to perform Inventory Analysis is a must.

• Experience with Month End Close process is important.

• Familiarity with Manufacturing Cost Accounting is essential.
