Amentum Project Superintendent (Multiple Disciplines) in Kennedy Space Center, Florida

Purpose and Scope:

Responsible for the coordination and provision of comprehensive work packages to include detailed job plan tasking, material list, schedule, as applicable for task orders, repair, and maintenance work. The job plan tasks should be written at the understanding level of a Journeyman Technician and provide enough information to allow efficient scheduling and execution of work.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for proper planning and estimating of man-hours on Work Orders received in Workload Management department.

  • Responsible for reading detailed drawings to make labor estimates and material takeoffs.

  • Responsible for coordination of the tasking during the planning stages with other assigned crafts, engineering, and work requester.

  • Develop detailed schedules, material requirements list(s) and production plans for established Workflow.

* Identify, coordinate and/or request procurement of all materials and special tools required to perform the WO tasks.

  • Perform work site field investigation and interaction with customer to determine job conditions, special requirements, and scope of work.

  • Verify availability/receipt of resources, outages, access, permits and materials prior to forwarding to scheduling.

  • Coordinate outages (dates and duration) through the Outage Coordinators and access work areas through the Facility Managers.

  • Assists Planning /Scheduling with the preparation of the near-term schedules.

  • Plan and issue project schedules and material requirements.

  • Follow weekly work schedules and communicate developments and potential issues.

  • Provide input to management regarding problems such as cost shortages, design changes, backlogs etc.

  • Responsible for coordinating all paperwork when a scope change is encountered by field personnel.

  • Prepare scope change requests in detail using established forms for submittal.

  • Provide technical assistance when requested by shop personnel.

*Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • 3+ years relevant experience with Masters Degree, or 5+ years relevant experience with Bachelors degree, or 10+ years relevant experience in related field.

*Must possess excellent written communication skills; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-orientated work.

*Experience in Mechanical/ Civil construction and facility modifications/upgrades.

*Must be proficient in CAD, Microsoft Planning and RS Means Cost works.

*Must be able pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
