POSITION SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with Senior Management in supporting the organization. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, payroll administration, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation and monitoring, recruitment, and employment law compliance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with Senior Leaders and Managers in aligning with Sysco HR initiatives. These include

but aren't limited to: Sysco Speaks, SVAs, Purpose Month, Pay review process, Talent Reviews, CDPs, and other corporate initiatives.

  • Provide day-to-day coaching and guidance to leaders and colleagues regarding employment

issues in areas including, but not limited to: Policy and procedure interpretation/application,

dispute resolution, corrective action, leaves of absence, harassment, and terminations.

  • Responsible for all human resources activities to include employment, compensation,

employee relations, benefits, and training and development.

  • Coordinate the resolution of specific policy-related and procedural problems and inquires.

  • Facilitate the Sysco Speaks Survey efforts for leaders. Analyze findings and review

trends with senior management and recommend actions to ensure positive organizational

changes.

  • Recommend, develop and schedule training and development courses.

  • Administer and explain benefits to employees, serve as liaison between employees and

insurance carriers.

  • Prepare and maintain company salary structure, job documentation, and job evaluations

systems.

  • Develop and recommend operating policy and procedural improvements.

  • Plan and execute company-wide events throughout the year to maintain company culture.

  • Develop and maintain relationship with employment agencies, universities and other

recruitment sources.

  • Prepare, process and distribute payroll when necessary.

  • Design and conduct, when necessary, new employee orientations.

  • Coach and develop the HR Generalist.

  • Participates in special projects and seeks additional responsibilities.

  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Basic Qualifications:

  • College degree or equivalent experience.

  • Knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines.

  • Knowledge of federal and state employment and benefit laws.

  • Ability to analyze data and provide recommendations.

  • Minimum of 5 years in Human Resources Management.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

  • Attention to detail, extraordinary follow-up, and ability to create meaningful plans and present to management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HRCI, SHRM or PHR certification.

  • Ability to accurately follow detailed procedures and processes.

  • Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people.

  • Ability to prioritize and work multiple tasks and exceeds deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently and with a group on various on-going projects simultaneously.

  • Effectively communicate with internal and external customers (management, co-workers, vendors and customers.)

  • Ability to act in an ethical, honest and professional manner at all times.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time.

  • Must be able to bend, reach and stoop occasionally to reach file cabinets, boxes, etc.

  • Must be able to look at a computer screen for prolonged periods of time and type.

  • Requires the ability to read written instructions, reports and other documentation.
