Job Description

For this specific role, we are looking for Product Management expertise in software, cloud platforms, and cloud applications. Reporting to the Director of Product Management, the Product Manager works with, engineering, marketing, operations, and sales, to build a growing network of happy, referenceable customers for our solutions. The TempTrak healthcare technology stack includes device hardware, device software, communications, cloud platform and cloud applications. You will need a holistic understanding of how all of the components fit together and can grasp the basic principles.

Product Manager is responsible for:

  • The TempTrak software and cloud product and value proposition

  • Maximizing the value of the product and work of the engineering teams

  • Owning the delivery team backlog and output

  • Balancing new features with reactive work such as maintenance, cost optimization and tackling tech debt

  • Being an expert in the user, the jobs they are trying to accomplish and problems they face

  • Driving the vision, strategy, design and execution of the product

  • Product roadmaps and requirements

  • Prioritizing work of the software engineering teams

  • Managing the full lifecycle of the product from cradle to grave

  • Building a growing network of happy, referenceable customers for the product

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience working with an agile software development team

  • 5+ years’ experience in software industry

  • 5+ years' of increasing levels of product management or engineering responsibility in modern product companies.

  • Has worked in a leadership role on a product team to develop and ship a new software product.

  • Experience developing software in any language; not production code but enough to hack a working prototype together

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship - temporary visas such as F1 (OPT and CPT), H1, H2, L, B, J, or TN are not eligible for this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a product manager

  • Has shipped multiple software products.

  • Experience in the healthcare or life science industry

  • Experience with the implementation of growth initiatives that lead to stronger market penetration.

  • Experience in the launch of multiple B2B/B2C products, with IoT and subscription-based business models

  • Experience directing work for teams across technology stacks that include hardware, firmware, cloud APIs and mobile app

  • Experience working on a team with user experience professionals

  • Expertise in product discovery and ability to structure a testing plan to validate/invalidate assumptions from insight to launch.

  • Experience with the implementation of growth initiatives that lead to stronger market penetration.

Responsibilities in detail:

  • Team leadership, goal establishment and measurement of progress

  • Develop deep knowledge of the business, understanding current business goals and stakeholders

  • Ensure product and development team can connect the product to its customers

  • Ensure product and development team can connect their work to business objective and outcomes

  • Develop and maintain product OKRs (objectives and key results) aligned with business objectives

  • Define product KPIs (key performance indicators) that lead product OKRs

  • Help to build internal innovation capabilities and champion a culture of creativity and innovative thinking

  • Leads product discovery and experimentation (answers question “should we build it?”)

  • Develop deep insights about the customer

  • Build deep knowledge of the data that enables us to understand behavior, measure progress, prove if ideas work and inform decisions

  • Identifies riskiest assumptions and key questions we must get answered

  • Develop and run experiments to get answers to key questions and address riskiest assumptions

  • Product requirements and prioritization of development work

  • Ensure new product or feature development is aligned with business strategy and goals

  • Responsible for customer, product and feature requirements

  • Assess and size the market opportunity as well as our right to win

  • Develop business cases that articulate our strategy for new products and product enhancements working with cross-functional team to refine product concept, evaluate its feasibility and communicate to key stakeholders.

  • Prioritizes the work (new customer features, UX improvements, bugs, maintenance and cost optimization)

  • Make balanced judgments when faced with costs, timing, and resource tradeoffs.

  • Consulted in technical decisions. Understands what is being built and the tradeoffs.

  • Portfolio / Product Life Cycle Management

  • Determine the optimal product portfolio to meet the customers need and operational goals

  • Develop plan for product obsolescence, rationalization of portfolio and phase outs and transitions

  • Execute the product lifecycle management plan (product modifications, product transitions, obsolescence, etc.)

  • Deep knowledge of the industry

  • Understand relevant market and category trends to include disruptive technologies and legislative, agency and regulatory impacts.

  • Monitor competitive activity, and assess competitive strategies, strengths, weaknesses and opportunities.

  • Conduct market and customer research as needed.
