ABOUT VNA HOME HEALTH: The Home Health program provides services for those needing skilled services under orders from a private physician delivered in the patient's private home. Visiting Nurse Association of Southeast Missouri is a non-profit organization.
TYPE OF WORK INVOLVED: Examination, treatment and instruction to assess, prevent, correct, alleviate and limit physical disability, movement dysfunction, bodily malfunction and pain from injury, disease and any other bodily condition. The PT may administer, interpret, and evaluate physical therapy tests and measurements of bodily functions and structures; the planning, administration, evaluation and modification of treatment and instruction, including the use of physical measures, activities, and devices, for preventive and therapeutic purposes; and the provision of consultative, educational, research and other advisory services for the purpose of reducing the incidence and severity of physical disability, movement dysfunction, bodily malfunction and pain.
TRAINING: VNA provides a 30-day preceptor/orientation training for new hires. This will allow an opportunity for you to shadow our Home Health Team Members for hands-on training. It will also allow time for our Team Members to ride with you, allowing you to ask questions while making patient visits. Computer training will cover the use of the handheld used to make patient visits.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education:: Bachelor of Science or Masters of Science Degree in Physical Therapy having graduated from an accredited school of physical therapy that is accredited by the Commission of Accreditation for Physical Therapy Education. (unless grandfathered in under different licensing requirement prior to 1988.)
Experience: At least one year experience preferred in a health care institution in the role of PT/PTA. Home health experience preferred.
