We are currently looking for an onsite Environmental Specialist who will lead and oversee the environmental management practices of a Data Center construction project. The Environmental Specialist will be expected to work closely with our construction team in a job office located on the job site. This role requires daily collaboration with project team members, client representatives and the local community to ensure seamless communication and effective management of public relations.

Location

Village of Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the environmental compliance for the project.

  • Identify, assess, and reduce environmental risks to the company.

  • Update environmental plans.

  • Perform and oversee field inspections (stormwater, SPCC, waste accumulation).

  • Implement waste management plan and communicate responsibilities to project team and subcontractors.

  • Maintaining project waste diversion data tracking requirements.

  • Identify wetland and sensitive environmental areas for protection and fencing in advance of construction activities.

  • Monitor, forecast and communicate environmental costs at the project level.

  • Develop and conduct environmental protection and awareness training to staff at all levels.

  • Function as a principal technical advisor and coordinator for environmental issues.

  • Prepare project and Kiewit required reports and communication of environmental risks to project management.

  • Liaise with the client providing them weekly/monthly reports as required and ensuring they are aware of any unanticipated discoveries, incidents, and compliance issues.

Qualifications

  • Ability to travel and relocate as needed.

  • Must have experience in erosion and sediment control.

  • Must have or be willing to hold an LEED accreditation, certified by the US Green Building Council (USGBC).

  • Minimum undergraduate degree in an environmental science or engineering field.

  • Knowledge and experience with multiple Federal, State, and County regulations.

  • 5+ years' experience managing construction environmental compliance for large construction projects.

  • Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time.

  • Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity.

  • Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt.

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives.

  • Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.
