Engine Technician - A
Kent, WA
Contract Position
$42.00/Hour
Responsibilities:
- Precision assembly of rocket engines, including detailed inspection of components to tolerances as tight as 0.0001".
- Manage hardware under critical cleanliness standards for liquid oxygen service.
- Safely handle hazardous systems containing chemicals and high-pressure equipment.
- Assist engineers by reviewing design concepts and providing feedback for improvements.
- Operate and maintain assembly fixture tooling and follow detailed work instructions for complex mechanical installations.
- Innovate to improve processes and enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience with assembly of turbomachinery, propulsion systems, aircraft or automotive engines, or other complex machinery.
- Strong mechanical skills with proficiency in hand and power tools.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical manuals.
- Proficiency in precision measurement and inspection tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
Clearance: Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted refugee/asylee.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in propulsion assembly, integration, and testing.
- Associate degree in a technical field.
- Experience with thread insert installation, critical sealing surfaces, and thread tapping tools.
- Familiarity with heavy lifting equipment like overhead cranes and forklifts.
- Proficiency with 3D measurement tools such as Faro Arms/Trackers and Verisurf software.
- Experience using 3D CAD tools (CREO preferred) and interpreting GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994 standards.
- A&P license or equivalent experience in propulsion system integration and testing.
