St. Louis Gear Company, Inc. is seeking a 2nd Shift Operations Manager for its location at 10 Royal Road, Keokuk, IA 52632. Will be responsible for will be responsible for: coordinating overall effectiveness and utilization of personnel and equipment running on 2nd shift to ensure production, staff schedules, and company operations remain within budgetary limits and adhere to company directives; manages 2nd shift operations through monitoring and controlling product quality to ensure adherence to process control plans, work instructions and conformance to product specs; effective scheduling/utilization of department personnel and equipment; direct administrative activities including monitoring and evaluating job performance, assessment of skill levels of shift employees, providing feedback to Production Supervisor and assisting in identifying training needs; perform personnel functions including providing training/coaching, while monitoring quality and productivity of individual employees and their department as a whole; responsibility and authority to enforce policies and procedures containing the quality manual and employee policy handbook; and authority and responsibility to stop production of non-conforming product and seek resolution of potential problems and concerns. Must have a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field and 2 years of experience in the following areas: gear shape cutters, hob sharpening, inspects of spur, helical, worm, worm gear, and straight bevel gears, gear cutter changes and adjustments, and set up of CNC and mechanical gear machines.
