Naval Sea Systems Command ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in Keyport, Washington

Summary You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the HEAVYWEIGHT & LIGHTWEIGHT TORPEDO PRODUCTION DIVISION of (NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV KEYPORT WA). Responsibilities You will manage and monitor progress and status of efforts in support of various advanced technology initiatives and projects, ensuring schedules and technical requirements are met. You will identify and mitigate problems by continuously monitoring and performing detailed technical processes required for these projects. You will provide operational and maintenance support of a variety of highly complex weapons systems in support of developmental initiatives, and attends and participates in regular design and project team reviews. You will interface directly with various internal and external customers including high level Program Managers, Customer Advocates, Department Management as well as researchers from private industry/academia to identify program requirements. You will participate on design/research teams to determine the best design or process alternative and to incorporate alternate advanced repair/rapid prototyping processes and techniques resulting in cost reductions and shorter delivery times. You will responsible for leading and coordinating work related to highly complex technology projects in support of undersea vehicles. You will be responsible for complex system level troubleshooting on a variety of undersea vehicles. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector managing or monitoring technical and maintenance requirements of weapon systems during new hardware integration, troubleshooting or design.
