McLaughlin Research Corporation ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNICIAN III-AG in Keyport, Washington

Seeking an Environmental Technician to help support the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Keyport Treatment, Storage and Disposal Facility (TSDF) in Keyport, WA.  This position requires the candidate to be a U.S. citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Secret security clearance.

Responsible for handling, packaging, and processing bulk and non-bulk waste in accordance with all federal, state and local regulations. Record waste, segregate waste types, consolidate like waste and compact/package waste as needed and identify the proper location for storage. Operate various equipment such as forklifts, waste compactors, drum washer, metal shredder, and aerosol can crusher. Provide Waste Accumulation Area inspection support, spill response support, and collect and prepare waste samples. Conduct daily/weekly/monthly inspections of the TSDF.  Job Requirements:

Must be a US Citizen

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

Familiar with environmental laws with regards to receiving, processing, treating, storing and shipping of hazardous waste. Familiar with preparing shipping manifests for Hazardous Waste. 

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certification

RCRA Training

Sampling Training

Department of Transportation (DOT) Training

Forklift Operation/Certification
