Naval Sea Systems Command IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in Keyport, Washington

Summary You will serve as an IT Specialist (INFOSEC) in the Information Technology Division of the Corporate Operations Department of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV KEYPORT WA. Responsibilities You will serve as a Red Hat (RHEL) Linux System Administrator under the Information Technology Division responsible for all aspects of IT system patching and compliance and automated patching system resources. You will plan, monitor, and coordinate management tasks and projects to include short and long range planning. You will provide technical advice and recommend alternative solutions to various projects/problems that require a significant deviation from established procedures, in depth analysis, new techniques, and local patch management policy. You will provide technical support and guidance in the areas of planning, development, and maintenance of all patch and compliance system resources maintained within the various service footprints. You will be responsible for ongoing supported infrastructure consolidation efforts, in order to maximize efficiencies in licensed software technologies and labor, reduce required hardware resources, and optimize datacenter space utilization. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: administration of Red Hat (RHEL) Linux systems both physical and virtual, analyzing the security of these information systems to identify and eliminate vulnerabilities or threats affecting network integrity and availability to ensure operational compliance. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
