Job Summary:
The Food Server is responsible for providing excellent customer service to guests by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience. This role requires a friendly and outgoing personality, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Interaction:
- Greet guests promptly and courteously as they are seated.
- Present menus, answer questions about menu items, and make recommendations.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system.
Order Delivery:
- Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure orders are delivered accurately and to the guests' satisfaction.
- Check on guests periodically to ensure they have everything they need.
Customer Service:
- Respond promptly to guest requests and concerns.
- Provide exceptional service by anticipating guest needs and exceeding expectations.
- Handle guest complaints or issues with a positive attitude and seek assistance from management when necessary.
Table Maintenance:
- Prepare tables for new guests by cleaning and setting up tableware, linens, and condiments.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area throughout the shift.
- Clear and reset tables promptly after guests leave.
Payment Processing:
- Present checks to guests and process payments accurately.
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and provide change as needed.
- Balance cash drawer at the end of the shift.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with kitchen staff and other servers to ensure smooth service.
- Assist with side work and opening/closing duties as assigned.
- Support colleagues during busy periods by taking additional orders and assisting with service.
